The AI recipe importer
MealTime's AI recipe importer reads a recipe from almost anywhere — a social video, a blog, a screenshot, a photo of a cookbook page, or text you paste — and turns it into a clean, structured recipe with a title, ingredients, step-by-step instructions, timings, and servings. Most imports take only a few seconds.
How it works
- Find a recipe in any app — Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Safari, Messages, or your Photos.
- Tap the Share button and choose MealTime from the share sheet.
- MealTime reads the source and extracts the recipe automatically.
- Review the parsed result, edit anything you want, and save it to a cookbook.
What you can import from
- Social video and posts: Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, Reddit, and Threads.
- Websites and blogs: paste or share any recipe URL.
- Screenshots and photos: import a saved screenshot or snap a photo of a cookbook or handwritten card.
- Copied text: paste a recipe from a note, email, or message.
What you get
Each import is structured into a recipe you can cook from: a clear title, an ingredient list, numbered instructions, prep and cook times when they are available, and the number of servings. You can edit every field before or after saving.
MealTime uses AI to read recipes, so occasionally a quantity or step may need a quick correction — always review an imported recipe before you cook, especially for measurements and anything allergy-related.
